I just finished cleaning up from my annual ” Canadians and Aussies living in America fourth of July Party”..  and realized that I actually threw a ” everybody left something at my house party!”.. I have a donkey (don’t ask).. a camera.. a receiving blanket.. a board game..  a kids hoodie and a sippy cup..  and someone also left their pride and dignity at the door.. but that is another story ;) 

my hard drive is full so there will be  more pictures added tomorrow..today!  It was a great time with family and friends.. and with kiddies added to the mix this year.. it was also a long day.. but the kids were ROCKSTARS!

we ate and ate.. and yet again.. I was in charge of the grill.. and by in charge.. I mean I looked over to where Dustin was “bbq-ing” and he was no where to be seen.. but there was mass amounts of smoke piling out! and so I bbq’d..I apologize to anyone who may suffer from some tummy problems tomorrow ;)   

and so this morning.. I am left to clean up the large mass of dishes that we were way to tired to do last night.. a cranky baby who was up until 10 pm.. and 52 flashcards that Olive loves to throw around now.. and yes.. I have tried taking them away.. and she wines and throws herself to the ground until they are back..

I am weak..

this year I made a cake that our next door neighbour used to bring to us randomly.. and apparently it crosses oceans and countries.. and everyone has a different name for it.. but we call it the ” you know.. its like Oreo cookies.. but not the white part.. and than you put whip cream on it.. and its a .. you know.. a log.. thingy.. ” the log part is where most people pick up on it.. and this year.. it was 3 logs!!

and I know that the colours are wrong..  but I bought only one container of raspberries at 4 dollars a mini box.. and  compromised with the color switch..

And this year.. we had even more American-o’s added to our mix! and I am not just talkin’ about our love children.. 

We had the Colbys over for dinner!

and  Lu and I had our first picture taken together since.. well.. I think it was Dustin’s birthday last year.. aka July

and this is as good as it gets for a family photo.. 

and the boys with their first borns.. 

and chicken drums that were cooked once everyone was full.. and I will surely be enjoying for dinner tonight!

and because this year it was 17 c and not the previous 35 c.. we had to dress appropriately. 

and now to the life and soul of the party.. this kid never stopped all day! he was doing the limbo.. I think I saw a beer bong at one point.. and I finally had to kick him out at  9:30 cause he needed some water and a bed!!!

and now because my dishwasher is about to be on the second cycle of the morning.. (if I don’t have to hand wash dishes.. I wont!) and toys need to be tidy-d.. and laundry needs to be washed.. it is time to return to the daily grind of being a part time SAHM..  I just thank my lucky stars that The Hallmark channel has replaced I love Lucy.. with my beloved Golden Girls..
