On October 09th, 2010.. my brother got married! I don’t think I fully registered that is was my brother getting married.. until I walked into the hall and saw him standing there.. I blame it mostly on just trying to survive the last month.. and my brain just wasn’t taking it in.. it was a beautiful wedding.. to a beautiful woman… with two beautiful daughters.. and I was not ready for all the tears that were going to flow..
Hollie looked absolutely amazing.. she actually looked like a beautiful greek goddess.. and you know me.. I love anything greek ;) they did a sand ceremony to symbolize the bringing of the families together.. where they all made promises to one another.. and sweet little Jayda just whispers..
I promise to love you forever daddy
it melted my heart..
than it was party time! we headed upstairs to the restaurant while pictures were snapped.. and memories were made.. threw down a couple o root beers.. than made our way down to the reception.. the place looked beautiful! and the food.. well the food smelled amazing..
I don’t know what it is about weddings.. up until my sisters and luellas.. those were the only weddings I had ever been to.. and there is this weird sense of pride with being that connected to the wedding party.. we were at table 1.. and got to eat first.. lol.. it doesn’t take much to impress me ;) we stuffed our faces.. while everyone got their drink on.. my brother in law Luke couldn’t make it.. but he was there in spirit.. but he was reallymissed..
we danced.. and re connected with old friends.. and partied until 1am.. I drove some people home and called it a night..
they were so stinkin excited!!
It was a great wedding.. followed by a nice family thanksgiving dinner.. where again.. I ate.. Olive was of course dressed in her Sunday pearls..
It was a long exhausting weekend.. but so worth it.. it was a nice distraction from sitting at home having a pity party.. unfortunately.. Olive came home with a really bad cold.. and we all pulled an all nighter last night.. I finally let her fall asleep on my chest.. just so she could breathe.. while my tummy ached.. and back strained.. but I would take what I could get.. and now.. I sit here.. tired.. with a sick baby.. and a house that needs groceries.. and just trying to muster up the energy to go get some..
That was my last wedding to attend of the season.. and now I get to sit at home and relax.. and plan a birthday for a special little lady who is turning 2 in November.. and now I can start thinking about the Christmas decorations that are coming to Pier 1 soon.. ahh.. let the fall holiday seasons begin!!
and I will finish this post with a picture of my little peanut pop..
